Ishinomaki Sports Sanctuary

ARCHITECTURE

This concept design is truely one of a kind. Created to sit soundly in Ishinomaki, Miyagi, Japan. This is the site of the most deadly Tsunami to ever hit the country. Because this city has been affected by 8 tsunamis within the last 100 years, this sports complex and park fits perfectly into the city center and can be used as an evac center. The complex is designed with two purposes in mind: First it is structurally engineered to withstand any future tsunami. Secondly, after the disaster takes place, it can easily convert into a relief shelter for victims to live in and rescue workers to operate from.
